Polishing the Looks

Prior to any beauty pageants, the contestants will need to make sure everything is perfect before the judgment day. As such, there are a few aesthetic procedures that enable them to look their best. Although all these seem to be a little costly, consider them as investments for your future. If you win, that’s great. If you don’t, at least all the procedures you go through serve as a little encouragement for you to look good.

Laser Resurfacing
There are plenty of facial treatments that clear the face from impurities – acne, pigmentation and scars.  One of them is laser resurfacing, where the laser beam gently vaporises or ablates the skin tissue. In turn, new skin cells will develop the old skin and reveals a better skin complexion. However, before that, the dead skin will peel off within seven days and ample care needs to be taken to make the transition comfortable.

Teeth Whitening
You need to flash that winning smile all the time. Hence, it’s important to make sure there are no yellow coffee stains on them and that they’re aligned perfectly, not crooked or gapped. Go to a dental specialist to check your teeth. Polish them. And if you need whitening services, do it.

Body Hair Removal
Nothing is fascinating about the existence of hair on the upper lip, underarm and bikini when you’re flashing your body before thousands of audience. Perform the necessary hair removal at designated areas to keep them hairless during the whole pageant period and beyond as it improves cleanliness. You could go for waxing or threading. If you prefer a more permanent solution, you can consider going for laser or electrolysis hair removal.

Laser cause localised damage by selectively heating dark target matter, melanin, in the area that causes hair growth. It works best on dark hair and light skin and you can experience 80% reduction of hair growth. On the other hand, electrolysis requires insertion of sterilised needle and low level electrical current into each hair follicle for permanent hair removal. It’s suitable for everyone, despite hair and skin colour.

Work that Abs
Contestants should look after their food intake to ensure good health throughout the whole pageant. Also, it’s important to prevent you from piling on extra pounds as that slim and athletic abs needs to be seen by the judges. No one would look good in a protruding stomach during catwalks. Exercise diligently to shed off the extra pounds prior to joining any pageant and maintain it when you have entered it.

Hair Treatment
The hair is often neglected as everyone sets their eyes upon the face and the body. Little do others know that the hair completes the overall look. You wouldn’t want viewers to notice the coarse hair or split ends when you’ve won and given the tiara, do you? Start your weekly hair treatments at the saloon or at home now!
